Regina Rini is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Moral Cognition at the Uehiro Centre and a member of the Oxford Centre for Neuroethics. She received her B.A. from Georgetown University in 2004, and her PhD in Philosophy from New York University in January 2011. She previously worked as a research assistant in the Riesenhuber Laboratory for Computational Cognitive Neuroscience, at Georgetown University Medical Center, from 2004-2005. Her current research interests center on the cognitive scientific study of moral judgment and decision-making. In particular, she investigates potential normative implications of empirical research, as well as methodological issues in social psychology and neuroscience arising from their engagement with moral cognition. She has additional research interests in the scientific and philosophical pursuit of consciousness, conceptual foundations of mental health, and the role of moral norms in international political institutions.
