Simon Rippon holds a joint Fellowship between the Oxford Uehiro Centre for Practical Ethics and the Harvard University Program in Ethics and Health. He is also a Fulford Junior Research Fellow at Somerville College. He received his Ph.D. in Philosophy from Harvard University, and holds a B.A. in Philosophy and Theology from Oxford. He is interested in applying metaethical theory to practical ethical issues, and has particular research interests in the treatment/enhancement distinction, fairness in organ donation, the nature of reasons and the question of how people come to have reasons to do things, moral disagreement, and the nature of moral expertise.
