Toby Newberry is a Research Scholar at the Future of Humanity Institute. His research interests lie primarily in macrostrategy, with a particular focus on foundational questions in ethics and economics. Before coming to FHI, Toby completed a BPhil (Master’s) in philosophy at the University of Oxford, and a BA(Hons) in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics at Victoria University of Wellington and the University of Otago, Dunedin. He also worked as a Policy Adviser for the New Zealand Transport Agency (while moonlighting as a performance poet).
