| Description | David Owens (Sheffield) 'Wronging' to be held in the Lecture Room, 10 Merton Street, Oxford - Seminars in Moral Philosophy webpage Abstract What is the difference between committing a wrong and wronging someone? Do we need the latter concept as well as the former? Having examined various other answers to the first question, I propose that the wronged party is the party who can forgive the wrong. As to the second question, I argue we have a use for the concept of a wronging because we have an interest in being able to control when guilt and blame are apt. |
