(Stanford University Centre in Oxford, Stanford House)
David Efird (York); Simon Gaine (Blackfriars Hall)
This event is free to attend and open to all; there is no need to register.
Is God beyond knowledge? If this is so, as the doctrine of divine ineffability proposes, how is it possible, if at all, to come to know God, fully and completely, as the doctrine of the beatific vision claims? Do even the inhabitants of heaven see God? Do they know what God is? Can they put what God is into words? The speakers will discuss these problems from theological and philosophical perspectives and attempt to resolve some of them. For more information, contact Roxana Baiasu.
Chair: Roxana Baiasu (Stanford University Centre & Faculty of Philosophy)
