Dr Filippo Ferrari and Sebastiano Moruzzi: 'Logical Constitutivism and the Revisability of Logic'
Abstract: In this paper, we begin by characterizing the thesis that logic is revisable, identifying two key aspects: metaphysical revisability and epistemic revisability. We then examine how two recent interpretations of the normative-constitutivist thesis regarding logic, specifically those proposed by Jessica Leech (2015) and Manish Oza (2020), conflict with at least one of these aspects of the thesis that logic is revisable. The importance of this conflict, and whether it presents a significant challenge to the positions advocated by Leech and Oza, hinges on the strength of the arguments supporting both metaphysical and epistemic revisability. Throughout the paper, we provide some consideration in favour of these theses..
