I hold a BA in Philosophy from the University of Birmingham and a BPhil in Philosophy from Oxford, where I studied at Linacre College. I then studied for a PhD in Philosophy at the University of St Andrews. My thesis was entitled The Nature and Rationality of Trust and Trustworthiness.
I joined the Oxford Uehiro Centre for Practical Ethics in 2022 (now the Uehiro Oxford Institute) as Research Fellow in the Ethics of Persuasive Digital Technologies. At the start of 2025, I moved to the Institute for Ethics in AI as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow and took up a Junior Research Fellowship at Corpus Christi College.
General interests: practical ethics; ethical theory; epistemology.
Specific interests: trust and trustworthiness, ethics of influence and persuasion; philosophy of artificial intelligence.
