Conventionalists maintain that at least some of our obligations are grounded in conventional values, that is values that can be served only through the social recognition of conventions. Conventionalism so understood comes in many forms. I'll formulate and argue for a modest form of conventionalism. Conventionalism is often thought to have conservative or relativist implications (or both). I ask whether modest conventionalism is committed to anything of that sort.
