Moral Philosophy Seminar (Week 8, HT18)

I outline an account of moral virtue and consider whether a notion of virtue plays a similar role in aesthetics. I consider whether moral and aesthetic virtue are identical or merely analogous, whether there are aesthetic counterparts to moral virtues of honesty, justice and beneficence. Finally I consider whether aesthetic virtue contributes to moral virtue.
